Why a physical
therapist built this

Twenty years in musculoskeletal care taught me one thing that turned out to apply everywhere: the outcome is usually decided by where you enter the system, not by what happens once you’re in it.

I spent two decades making that case in my own field - that in musculoskeletal care, changing where a patient starts changes the whole trajectory: less imaging, less medication, less cost, better function. I wrote about it. I built forty-five clinics around it.

EverSpan Life moves that entry point upstream of injury entirely.

Why do we wait until people become patients before we truly start paying attention to their health?

Let me be clear: this isn’t a criticism of physicians or hospitals. The system is full of talented people doing their best. But it was built to diagnose and treat illness - not to help you understand your health beforehand. So once a year you get a short list of basic labs, a “looks normal,” and you’re sent on your way.

I met countless people who did everything right. They scheduled their physicals. They exercised. They followed their doctor’s advice. And still, so many of them told me the same thing:

“My labs are normal, but I don’t feel normal.”

That gap is why I built EverSpan Life.

The problems that stayed with me were the ones rehabilitation couldn’t reach. Chronic inflammation. Hormones out of range. Metabolic health quietly deteriorating. Sleep that never restored anything. None of it was a rehabilitation problem - all of it was upstream of what I’d been trained to fix. So I went and found the person who owned each one.

The advisory board, in context

  • Inflammation

Advised by Dr. David Furman, PhD

  • Sleep and circadian health

Advised by Dr. Martin Moore-Ede, MD, PhD

  • Hormonal and metabolic health

Advised by Dr. Brad Jacobs, MD, MPH

Their role is advisory. Your care is delivered by EverSpan Life’s licensed care team - the clinicians who review your results, build your plan, and stay with you as your data changes.

The operating principle

I run EverSpan Life on a principle I borrowed from outside healthcare entirely: be unreasonably hospitable.

It’s an odd standard for a clinical company, and that’s the point. Most people’s experience of healthcare isn’t unkind so much as indifferent - a system with no time budgeted for the part where someone explains what’s happening to you.

“Unreasonable hospitality” is Will Guidara’s phrase, borrowed with credit - not an EverSpan Life coinage.

You don’t need more healthcare. You need someone you can trust to help you navigate it.

It would be an honor to walk beside you.
